🌎 Build Authority Through Visibility

by Kim Jarnagin | Feb 25, 2026

International Women’s Day (March 8th) is a powerful reminder that leadership matters — but in marketing, leadership looks different than most business owners think.

Using the StoryBrand framework, your customer is the hero of the story — not you.

But that doesn’t mean you disappear.

It means you show up as the guide.

In every strong story:

  • The hero has a problem.
  • They meet a guide.
  • The guide shows empathy and authority.
  • The guide gives them a clear plan.
  • The hero succeeds.

If your website only lists services, you’re not positioned as the guide — you’re positioned as another option.

To build authority through visibility, ask:

  • Are you clearly identifying your customer’s problem?
  • Are you expressing empathy (“We understand how frustrating this is”)?
  • Are you demonstrating authority (results, experience, certifications, testimonials)?
  • Are you giving them a clear next step?

Authority isn’t about talking more about yourself.
It’s about clearly showing that you understand the problem and have a plan to solve it.

This month, try one small shift:

  • Update your homepage to clarify the problem you solve.
  • Add a short “Here’s how we help” 3-step plan.
  • Strengthen your About section to position you as the trusted guide — not the hero.

When customers see themselves in the story — and see you as the capable guide — trust builds quickly.
